A Nature Reserve is a territory protected by specific regulations that preserve its natural wealth.

The primary objective is to protect outstanding or threatened natural environments: fauna, flora, soil, water, minerals and fossils, on land, underground or in water.

Through environmental education actions, they contribute to building environmental awareness to protect this exceptional natural heritage.

Every summer, the Federation of Catalan Nature Reserves organizes a Nature festival. From May to October, activities for children and adults are offered in all the department's nature reserves: accompanied hikes (some are even offered for people with disabilities), nature workshops for children, expeditions focusing on bats, shows ... A whole array of activities raising awareness on the protection of our environment. And for photography lovers, the "Déclic Nature 66" Contest is also organized throughout the summer.
