CHAPELLE SAINT VINCENT D'EUS
RELIGIOUS BUILDING
Near Prades, discover one of the most beautiful villages in France, Eus. An unusual stone village which is popular with artists, Eus is the ideal place for a family stroll and offers unobstructed views over Mount Canigou.
From its granite hilltop viewpoint, Eus is one of the sunniest villages in France. Once fortified, the village is dominated by the 18th century Church of St. Vincent which is built on the ruins of an ancient castle. Indeed, historically this ancient defensive site served to push the French back in the 16th century and the Spanish army in the 18th century. From the church, you can stroll along the sloping, winding, cobbled streets of this pedestrian village and discover local artisans, artists and shopkeepers who contribute to making Eus one of the most beautiful villages of France.
Every year come to admire peach trees in bloom from the village of Eus. In spring, the village offers a magnificent view of the peach trees and in the background, the Canigo is still often snowy, a magnificent spectacle.
